If you have dull blades, they will rip and pull at the grass, which stresses the grass and takes longer to recover. A nice clean cut that you get from having sharp blades, causes less stress and allows the grass to recover quicker. Imagine the difference between a nice clean surgical cut, versus the jagged edge of a kitchen knife. Which do you think would heal faster? Its the same when it comes to blades.
Just like its important to put the blades on the right way. If you don't get that correct then the blades won't cut. Plus you have to make sure that they are tighten correctly.
